History

Burghotel Schnellenberg

Castle Burg Schnellenberg towers impressively over the hanseatic city of Attendorn. It is surrounded by 240 hectares of woodland and meadow. The history of the castle dates to 1222. Nowadays it is one of the best maintained castles in Westphalia. The stylish hotel receives its guests with warm hospitality in fairy tale surroundings. The welcome is in accordance with the Latin proverb: ‘stranger, don’t stay outside, my door is open to the traveller’. The classically designed guest rooms have beautiful views. The hotel boasts a spa and an adorable chapel where wedding ceremonies can be performed. Dine as the knights did in days of yore - under vaulted ceilings or in the romantic courtyard. The menu offers regional and international dishes.

Elegant and atmospheric

Restaurant Burghotel Schnellenberg

Elegant cross-vaulted ceilings adorn the dining area where long ago the castle’s knights sat down for their meals. The inner courtyard terrace is also a romantic location for your dinner. Chef Christian Kipper’s excellent cuisine offers a wonderful variety of dishes. You can choose a wine to complement your food from the well-stocked wine cellar. The cosy bar is located in one of the castle’s basements, a vault carried by four pillars. Enjoy the murals with a good glass of wine in your hand.
