Château Wittem
Château Wittem is a place where old charm and modern fine dining come together. The Holy Roman Emperor Charles V stayed here, as did William of Orange. The Wilden family transformed this historic castle into a contemporary boutique hotel with an excellent restaurant. From the 18th century to the 1950s, the castle was the residence of the Merckelbach family, and they were the last to use it as a home. The atmosphere of the decor in the 12 guestrooms is ‘French chic’ and boast classic elegance. Each room has a name and a story related to important figures in the castle’s long history, which goes back to 1125. Restaurant Julemont is named after knight Winand van Julemont, who moved into the chateau around 1200. Chef Fabiano Palombini brings energy, new ideas and top gastronomy to Wittem. The restaurant serves French classics and regional favourites. Wittem is located between Maastricht and Aachen, but Belgium is also just around the corner.

Restaurant Julemont, named after knight 'Winand van Julemont', who occupied the castle around 1200, is renowned for its refined culinary experience. With the arrival of chef Fabiano Palombini, the team of talented chefs brings French classics back to life, with dishes like oysters, lobster, and foie gras, paired with carefully selected wines or champagne. In addition, the finest regional dishes are prepared using local products. The atmospheric wine cellar is a hidden gem of Château Wittem, where you can select exclusive wines under expert guidance for an unforgettable dining experience. When the weather allows, dining on the terrace is highly recommended, offering a stunning view of the castle garden with its imposing monumental trees. A place where time seems to stand still.
