The taste of Zeeland
De Kromme Watergang
This part of Zeeland, Zeeuws-Vlaanderen is famed for its hospitality and tasty food and drink, and De Kromme Watergang is no exception. This restaurant with its unique rooms is located just behind the Schelde dikes. Owners Edwin and Blanche Vinke run an internationally acclaimed restaurant offering a taste of Zeeland. The Chef sources only the best local produce. Freshly caught fish comes in daily from Breskens. The restaurant’s huge kitchen garden, De Zilte Hof, is the other important source of ingredients. Three of the four suites are located in a new condo complex in Breskens harbour. Behind the dunes of Breskens you will find beautiful beaches overlooking the Westerschelde. The Belgian seaside resort of Knokke is well within reach.

KEY FEATURES AND SERVICES
Reviews
"Edwin Vinke is an ambassador for Zeeuws-Vlaanderen. The Oosterschelde and the North Sea are the main suppliers to this chic restaurant. Fish and shellfish are supplied by his father-in-law. He grows his own vegetables and fruit. Chef Vinke works as much as possible from fin and head to tail. The power of his kitchen comes from the product. With exotic spices and modern techniques, he provides extra punch."

"Zeeland remains an important inspiration for many chefs. Also for chef Edwin Vinke, who for more than 25 years has been translating all the riches of Zeeland into dishes with a very personal design. The fauna and flora of Zeeland and the rich merchant history of the Netherlands play the leading role in this. Herbs and spices from all over the world make local dishes especially exciting and often give them an extra dimension."
