Hotel Jagdhof Glashütte

Rural Romance

Hotel Jagdhof Glashütte

Jagdhof Glashütte in the idyllic Rothaar mountains in Sauerland was once a simple inn. Local lumberjacks, hunters and nobility from the region went there for a good glass of beer or Schnapps at the end of the day. In 1975, 20-year old Edmund Dornhöfer took over the business from his father, who had passed away. Over the past 40 years Edmund has transformed the inn into a five-star hotel that is exceptional in every respect. It is one of the best in Germany and a pearl of hospitality where culinary enjoyment and authenticity reign supreme. Just like the other areas of the half-timbered hotel, the rooms of Jagdhof Glashütte are luxurious and rural, but above all romantically decorated. Right down to the rose petals on the bed and champagne in the cooler.

Classic dishes with a modern twist

Ars Vivendi, Fuhrmannskneipe & Jagdhof Stuben

‘Soul Kitchen’ is written above the door into the kitchen in restaurant Ars Vivendi. Adorning the walls in the kitchen are king size portraits of famous chefs, such as Sergio Herman. The chef and his team are not only inspired by the abundant nature surrounding them, but also by the great names in the culinary world. The chefs create classic dishes with a modern twist, sourcing seasonal produce locally whenever possible. Jagdhof Glashütte houses 2 other restaurants, where you can enjoy a simpler but still excellent lunch or dinner: Fuhrmannskneipe & Rôtisserie Jagdhof Stuben.

Reviews

"The cuisine at this beautiful spot has always been authentic, due to the top-quality ingredients"

Gault&Millau

"This restaurant has stag sculptures and antlers, tin pitchers and plates, and a huge open hearth. Proof that country-style doesn’t always need to follow strict rules, as it can be created simply by stylish use of authentic objects."
