Hotel Gastronomique de Echoput

Hotel Gastronomique De Echoput, a hidden gem in the heart of Kroondomein Het Loo, where the forest whispers and history comes alive. For seventy years, De Echoput has been a household name on the Veluwe, starting as a modest tea house and growing into a five-star haven for bon vivants and culinary enthusiasts. The Klosse family, now in its third generation, welcomes you with personal warmth and a deep-rooted passion for flavor and hospitality. Here you stay in one of 42 spacious rooms and suites, designed for tranquility, comfort, and harmony with nature. Natural materials, soft colors, and large windows bring the forest to your bedside—nearly every room has a balcony, loggia, or bay window to let you breathe in the fresh woodland air. Enjoy luxurious bathrooms with natural stone walk-in showers and bathtubs, plush beds, underfloor heating, climate control, and fast Wi-Fi. From your room you gaze out over ancient beech and oak trees, with hiking and cycling trails starting right outside the door. De Echoput breathes history: from the royal water well and Wilhelmina’s tea house to the gastronomic institute of today, where grandfather Jaap, son Peter, and grandson Lodewijk have all left their mark. Here, the art of enjoyment is passed down from generation to generation—in the hotel, at the table, and in the woods.

The warm, personal service ensures you feel right at home, whether you’re enjoying an elaborate dinner, an intimate gathering, or a festive occasion. Fine dining in tune with nature

Wild Atelier

Wild Atelier is the culinary laboratory of De Echoput, where master chef Jonathan Zandbergen brings his vision of wild gastronomy to life. Wild Atelier has been awarded 16.5/20 points by Gault&Millau. Here, everything revolves around pure ingredients from local game management, fisheries, and regenerative agriculture, presented in their most elegant form. Each season and every dish tells a story of origin, freedom, and flavor—here, wild is not just a product, but a philosophy. The ‘Taste of the Netherlands’ menu changes with the seasons and offers an extraordinary fine dining experience, with a choice of five or seven courses (a fully vegetarian menu is also available). At Wild Atelier, you’ll taste the essence of the forest, land, and water, translated into dishes that excite your senses and introduce you to the richness of Dutch nature. Wild Atelier is open for dinner on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, and for lunch on Friday and Saturday. Here, nature, craftsmanship, and hospitality come together in a truly unique experience.

"At Restaurant Wild Atelier, chef Jonathan Zandbergen gives wild gastronomy a distinctive and contemporary signature. Working with carefully selected ingredients from local game management, fisheries, and regenerative agriculture, he creates refined dishes with remarkable depth and intensity. His cuisine tells a story, with classics such as hare à la royale showcasing craftsmanship, product knowledge, and elegance. Depth and finesse go hand in hand here, without ever sacrificing power. Wild Atelier demonstrates how expressive and modern wild cuisine can be and was rightfully named Remarkable Newcomer of the Year."
