HOCHFIRST THE LUXURY MOUNTAIN RESORT

Perched at nearly 6,330 feet above sea level, directly on the slopes of Obergurgl, HOCHFIRST The Luxury Mountain Resort is a five-star retreat where winter is more than a season - it is part of the entire experience. Step straight from the hotel onto the slopes while the surrounding 10,000-foot Alpine peaks create an unforgettable backdrop. The location is exceptional, with a ski lift directly behind the hotel providing effortless access to 70 miles of perfectly groomed slopes in Obergurgl-Hochgurgl. For more than ninety years, HOCHFIRST has remained in the hands of the same family. Founded in 1934 by hotel pioneer Valentin Gstrein, the property has grown into one of the Ötztal Alps' most distinguished luxury mountain resorts. Today, the third and fourth generations of the Fender family continue the tradition with the same philosophy: preserving heritage while continually refining the guest experience. This vision is reflected throughout the resort. The 83 rooms and suites combine Alpine elegance with contemporary comfort. Expansive windows, glass-fronted balconies, and warm natural materials ensure the surrounding mountains are always part of the experience. The Sky Suite and Penthouse Suite represent the pinnacle of luxury, complete with private saunas, Bang & Olufsen sound systems, and breathtaking panoramic views of the snow-covered peaks. HOCHFIRST is the perfect destination for travelers who want to combine world-class skiing with refined luxury. Every detail has been thoughtfully designed. From the newly renovated lobby and ski depot to the expansive Alpen Spa, exclusive wine cellar, and the warm hospitality of the Fender family and their dedicated team.

Every dish reflects precision, craftsmanship, and a modern interpretation of classical cooking. Chef Mario Scandura and his team create elegant menus that balance regional ingredients with international influences. Classical techniques provide the foundation, while contemporary creativity brings freshness and surprise to every course. Each plate is carefully composed, always placing flavor at the center. The intimate dining room enhances the experience. Warm materials, elegant details, and attentive service create an atmosphere that feels sophisticated yet welcoming. An exceptional wine cellar provides perfectly selected pairings that complement every menu. Dining at Gourmetstube Hochfirst is an experience defined by elegance, authenticity, and an uncompromising commitment to quality - perfectly reflecting the spirit of the resort.

WINE, PRIVATE DINING & GOURMET FONDUE

Santé Vinotheque

Santé Vinotheque is one of HOCHFIRST's hidden gems. This intimate wine lounge is dedicated to exceptional wines, memorable experiences, and private moments shared in elegant surroundings. At its center stands a remarkable table crafted from centuries-old oak wine barrels, illuminated by Swarovski crystal lighting and complemented by Riedel glassware and carefully selected wines from renowned wine regions around the world. Guests gather here for guided wine tastings with the sommelier, exclusive private dinners, or gourmet fondue experiences in a refined setting. The walk-in red wine cellar houses rare vintages alongside prestigious international labels, including the exclusive Selektion Hochfirst wines. Santé feels like a private salon for wine enthusiasts. Quiet, sophisticated, and entirely devoted to exceptional hospitality. It is one of the resort's most exclusive venues for an unforgettable evening with family, friends, or business guests.

THE HEART OF THE RESORT

HOCHFIRST BAR & LOUNGE

The Hochfirst Bar is the social heart of the resort. After a day on the slopes, in the spa, or at Gourmetstube Hochfirst, guests naturally gather here. Comfortable armchairs, an elegant bar, and a cozy fireplace create a warm and inviting atmosphere. The drinks menu features everything expected from a five-star mountain resort: premium Champagne, outstanding wines, expertly crafted cocktails, fine whiskies, and Austrian specialty spirits. Whether enjoying a pre-dinner aperitif, après-ski drink, or a relaxed evening by the fire, every moment feels effortless. Adjacent to the bar, the Hochfirst Lounge and Winter Garden offer a quieter retreat. During the day, panoramic mountain views take center stage; in the evening, the illuminated peaks provide an unforgettable backdrop for the final glass of the day.

SKI-IN & SKI-OUT IN OBERGURGL-HOCHGURGL

WINTER SPORTS AT 6,300 FEET

HOCHFIRST enjoys one of the most sought-after locations in Obergurgl: directly on the slopes. The ski trail begins immediately behind the hotel, where the private access lift connects guests effortlessly to the Festkoglbahn. From there, the entire Obergurgl-Hochgurgl ski area opens up, offering 70 miles of slopes between 5,900 and 10,100 feet above sea level. Thanks to its high-altitude location, Gurgl is one of the most snow-sure ski destinations in the Alps. From mid-November through late April, skiers enjoy long descents, wide-open slopes, state-of-the-art lifts, and spectacular mountain scenery with minimal waiting times. Beginning in 2026, the ski experience becomes even more convenient with a brand-new ski depot located directly beside the slopes, allowing guests to ski straight into the storage area. The ski school and Bobo's Kids Club are also located immediately behind the hotel, making HOCHFIRST equally attractive for experienced skiers and families. For travelers seeking a winter vacation where every detail has been considered, HOCHFIRST offers a rare combination of guaranteed snow, true ski-in/ski-out access, five-star luxury, and exceptional hospitality.
