Luxury oasis on the Prinsengracht canal
Hotel 717
Hotel 717, overlooking the Prinsengracht canal, is one of the first luxury boutique hotels in the Netherlands with outstanding modern care in a delight of historical atmospheres. This monumental canal house has been around since the 17th century and has welcomed guests as a hotel for 25 years. The original concept, based on small scale and personal attention, still retains its value. But after 25 years, Hotel 717 decided to change the decor and interior. The old special touch has been given a new look, with every effort made to let the monumental canal house reflect its atmosphere. Changing the interior of the building has allowed it to almost double the number of rooms: from 12 rooms, to 23 uniquely decorated rooms. In addition, the rooms have been fitted with newly installed equipment, and the electrical installation has been brought up to date.
A living room to enjoy
Restaurant The Living
Since their 25th anniversary, Hotel 717 has its very own restaurant on the ground floor, ‘The Living’. Previously, breakfast was served in the Strawinsky room, but now it has been magically transformed into a real living room. Besides a culinary á la carte breakfast where bits and bites are served all day under the direction of chef Rene Haak, it is a space where hotel guests can work, read a book or meet a relation. During sunny days, Hotel 717 had now also created the opportunity to have breakfast in the garden in the morning, high tea during the day or wine in the evening. An oasis of calm, right in the centre of Amsterdam.
