Villa Marburg im Park

A Hidden Retreat Where Tranquillity and Indulgence Come Together

VILLA MARBURG IM PARK

Some places don't reveal their true character at first glance. Villa Marburg im Park is one of those hidden retreats where you only understand why guests return time and again the moment you step inside. Behind the elegant façade of this historic country house lies a world of tranquillity, nature, and understated refinement. Surrounded by the vast forests of the Hochspessart and the gently flowing River Lohr, time seems to slow down naturally here. This unique atmosphere is no coincidence. In 1884, Frankfurt merchant Rudolf Marburg built the villa as a place to escape the demands of everyday life. More than a century later, that original vision is still very much alive. Each of the nineteen individually designed rooms and suites offers views of the park or the surrounding greenery. Bright, comfortable, and inviting, they provide the perfect setting to wake up to birdsong and leave the outside world behind. Villa Marburg is more than a hotel. It is a destination where gastronomy, wellbeing, and genuine hospitality come together. Whether you spend your days exploring the forests, enjoying exceptional cuisine, recharging in peaceful surroundings, or focusing on work in an inspiring environment, every moment is shaped by thoughtful attention—to the guest, to nature, and to the little details that make a stay truly memorable. Rather than a traditional wellness hotel or a classic country estate, Villa Marburg is a contemporary retreat where mindful living takes centre stage. A place where you can simply slow down—and discover how rewarding that can be.

Where the Seasons Shape the Menu

PARKRESTAURANT

After a day spent exploring nature or hiking through the Spessart, the Parkrestaurant is the perfect place to unwind. Floor-to-ceiling windows bring the surrounding park indoors, creating a seamless connection with the landscape throughout every meal. As the seasons change, so does the atmosphere, making nature an integral part of the dining experience. Chef Ludger Helbig draws inspiration from the finest ingredients the region has to offer. Seasonal produce, honest flavours, and traditional craftsmanship form the foundation of his contemporary interpretation of classic German inn cuisine. Familiar dishes are elevated with subtle refinement while remaining true to their origins. Dining here is not about complexity, but about enjoying the moment. Whether it's a leisurely lunch on the terrace, an elegant dinner overlooking the greenery, or a seasonal menu celebrating the best of the harvest, every meal invites you to slow down and savour the experience.

Refined Gastronomy with a Signature Style

HELBIG'S FINE DINING

An evening at Helbig's Fine Dining is a carefully curated journey through modern European cuisine. Chef Ludger Helbig cooks with a clear philosophy: pure ingredients, refined techniques, and flavours that complement rather than overpower one another. His long-standing collaboration with the legendary spice expert Ingo Holland is still evident in the subtle use of herbs and the elegant layers of flavour that define every dish. The menu evolves with the seasons, showcasing the very best of each harvest. Expect dishes such as Tristan da Cunha langoustine with buttermilk, tarragon, green apple, and kohlrabi, Yellowfin tuna with aubergine, pomegranate, and garam masala, or perfectly prepared venison loin served with chanterelle crêpe, pointed cabbage, and a rich port wine mole sauce. The experience concludes with refined desserts, such as a light pistachio sponge with ginger cream, nectarine, and lemongrass ice cream. Helbig's Fine Dining proves that exceptional cuisine doesn't have to be extravagant to leave a lasting impression. Here, craftsmanship, balance, and unforgettable flavours take centre stage.

Where Fine Wines and Warm Hospitality Meet

Weinstube

Beneath the villa lies a place where time seems to slow down. Set within a charming sandstone vaulted cellar, the historic Weinstube invites guests to linger over fine wines, good conversation, and relaxed afternoons that effortlessly turn into evening. A carefully curated wine list takes centre stage, complemented by classic regional dishes and seasonal specialities that perfectly match the warm, welcoming atmosphere. From autumn onwards, the Weinstube also opens its doors every Sunday for a leisurely lunch, where great food and conviviality go hand in hand. Whether you're celebrating a birthday, hosting a family gathering, or enjoying an intimate private dinner, the Weinstube provides a unique setting. Its historic character, attentive service, and eye for detail make every occasion feel truly special.

Slow Down, Unwind, and Restore Your Balance

WELLNESS & FITNESS

Sometimes, all you need is a place where nothing is expected of you. The wellness area at Villa Marburg is exactly that. Step inside, embrace the silence, and feel the pace of everyday life gradually fade away. The whirlpool, Finnish sauna, Roman steam bath, and tecaldarium invite you to unwind completely, while the peaceful relaxation lounge encourages you to linger just a little longer. Treat yourself to a soothing massage or a personalised beauty treatment in the hotel's beauty salon. Each treatment is tailored to your individual needs, leaving you feeling not only relaxed but truly restored. If you're looking to recharge, you'll find plenty of opportunities both indoors and outdoors. Work out in the fitness room or step straight onto the hiking and mountain biking trails that wind through the Spessart forests. Villa Marburg also offers yoga sessions, forest bathing experiences, and detox and longevity programmes in collaboration with specialised health experts from the region. Here, wellbeing is about more than luxury alone. Surrounded by nature, nourished by exceptional cuisine, and cared for with genuine attention, you'll leave feeling refreshed, rebalanced, and inspired long after your stay has ended.
