The North Sea at your feet
Augusta Hotel & Restaurant
Sea, dunes, harbours, locks and... Augusta. This hotel in the middle of characteristic Old Ijmuiden is a haven of tranquility, with the beach and the beautiful Heerenduinen in the area. With the fish auction and ferries across the North Sea to Newcastle just around the corner, and yet amazingly quiet. The hotel has been here for more than 100 years and it still breathes the atmosphere of the early 20th century. The hotel has an English taxicab from 1965, a Beardmore Mark V6, with which the guests can catch a ride to the beach, the dunes or the marina. The individually designed rooms are in the style of the building, with polished furniture from around 1900. Art deco and the Amsterdam School go hand in hand here. The Gentlemen’s Room with the fire place functions as a lounge. Brasserie Augusta has a French-Dutch cuisine with an Asian twist.
Sincere and original
Brasserie Augusta
Brasserie Augusta is decorated in period style with a high beamed ceiling, traditional style windows and wood panelling. This part of the building has always remained original. The tables are elegantly laid with damask tablecloths. The French-Dutch cuisine with Asian twist is honest and original. There are rooms available for functions and the bar is in the cosy drawing-room lounge. Hotel Augusta doesn’t have a terrace, but in nice weather tables and chairs are put outside the entrance on the left. Lunch or afternoon drinks are served here.

Reviews
"Stylish establishment where the grandeur of the early last century has been beautifully preserved. We take the aperitif in the beautiful salon. French cuisine with contemporary and international, often Asian accents. We choose grilled pulpo with salad and wasabi cream and crispy prosecutor with five-spice gravy: tasty and correct. Cheerful service, good timing."
