Berghotel Sexten

WHERE THE DOLOMITES ARE ALWAYS WITHIN REACH

Berghotel Sexten

There are hotels in the mountains, and then there are places where the mountains become part of your stay. Berghotel Sexten undoubtedly belongs to the latter. Set in the heart of the Sesto Valley and surrounded by the impressive peaks of the Sesto Dolomites, this is a place where the landscape captures your attention from the moment you arrive. Yet it is not just the view that makes this four-star superior hotel special. Step inside and you will discover thoughtful details, unexpected corners, and interiors that combine warm Alpine character with a contemporary, relaxed sense of style. Nothing feels overly formal. It is precisely this easygoing atmosphere that gives the hotel its distinctive personality: stylish, but never stiff. The 80 individually designed rooms and suites provide welcoming retreats after a day in the mountains. Some are spacious and expressive, others more understated, but the surrounding landscape always plays a leading role. Outside, the Dolomites await; inside, everything revolves around warmth, comfort, and the wonderful feeling that there is nowhere else you need to be. Perhaps that is the greatest luxury of Berghotel Sexten. Time seems to slow down naturally here. Hike through the mountains, ski across snowy slopes, linger over dinner, take a swim, or simply sit back and admire the peaks. Stress somehow feels very far away.

FROM SESTO HONEY TO APPLE STRUDEL

BERGHOTELS RESTAURANT

At Berghotel Sexten, knowing where ingredients come from matters. Not because regional cuisine happens to be fashionable, but because of a simple philosophy: good food starts with good produce. Regional, organic, and sourced whenever possible from producers in South Tyrol and the immediate surroundings. You can taste that philosophy from the moment breakfast begins. Homemade muesli, fresh fruit, honey from a beekeeper in Sesto, bread from the local bakery, and jams made with berries from Braies are served alongside freshly prepared egg dishes, South Tyrolean fruit juices, Fairtrade coffee, and a wide selection of teas. Later in the day, homemade cakes await, including Berghotel’s much-loved shortcrust apple strudel. In the evening, chef Andrea De Betta showcases the culinary character of the region. Salads, antipasti, authentic Sesto Bauernspeck, soups, and changing seasonal dishes are followed by desserts and carefully selected cheeses accompanied by homemade chutneys. The culinary signature is refreshingly simple: cook with ingredients from the region and use them when they are at their best. No complicated philosophy, just honest flavors, excellent produce, and a taste of South Tyrol on every plate.

WARM WATER, MOUNTAIN AIR, AND ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO

WELLNESS & BEAUTY

After hours spent outdoors, warmth feels especially rewarding in the mountains. At Berghotel Sexten, wellness is therefore not simply an addition to your stay, but the natural continuation of an active day in the Dolomites. Swim a few laps in the indoor pool or head outside and enjoy the water with the mountains as your backdrop. Afterwards, it is time to slow down even further. The sauna, wellness, and beauty facilities invite you to linger and enjoy those rare moments when there is simply nothing else you need to do. It is the contrast that makes the experience so special. Outside, rugged mountain peaks, hiking trails, and ski slopes await; inside, it is all about water, warmth, and relaxation. Add a beauty treatment or simply take your time after a swim, and by the next morning your legs may already feel ready for another adventure. Wellness here is not just about being pampered. It is about recovering, slowing down, and finding fresh energy for everything waiting outside.

FROM HIKING BOOTS TO SKIS

THE DOLOMITES BEGIN AT YOUR DOORSTEP

At Berghotel Sexten, there is really only one difficult decision to make: what will you do today? In summer, the surrounding mountains offer hiking trails for almost every level. Choose a leisurely walk through the Sesto Valley or venture higher into the mountains, with the characteristic peaks of the Dolomites appearing again and again on the horizon. There is just as much to discover on two wheels, from relaxed cycling routes to demanding mountain bike tours with serious elevation gains. In winter, the same landscape transforms into a natural playground covered in snow. Skiing, cross-country skiing, sledding, ski touring, and winter hiking are all within easy reach, with many adventures beginning directly at or close to the hotel. That is ultimately what makes this location so special. The mountains are not an excursion that requires getting into the car first. They are right there when you wake up. All you have to do is step outside.
