In the historic miniature town of Meisenheim, located in the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate, you'll find Meisenheimer Hof – a unique destination deeply rooted in local culture, where atmosphere, flavor, and craftsmanship go hand in hand.
Where stories sleep
Meisenheimer Hof is unlike any other hotel. While many hoteliers might say that, the passionate team led by chef de cuisine and maître d’hôtel Markus Pape truly brings it to life. The hotel, which began in 2013 in an inn dating back to 1699, has over the years become intricately connected to the local community. “After the first twelve rooms in the historic inn, we added thirteen more, spread across seven buildings in Meisenheim,” Pape explains. “Many guests take a short walk through the village — no more than five minutes — to reach their room after checking in. This gives them an immediate opportunity to soak in the local culture and history.” Fourteen more rooms are planned for summer 2026.

Rooms with roots in the vine
Each room at Meisenheimer Hof is uniquely themed, paying tribute to historical figures or world-renowned vineyards. “Rhineland-Palatinate is one of Germany’s most prominent wine regions. Within a 30-minute drive from Meisenheim, you’ll find countless beautiful vineyards, including our own Weingut Disibodenberg,” says Pape. This estate spans 22 hectares and produces around 180,000 liters of wine annually — including red, white, and a generous amount of Sekt — destined for markets in the Netherlands, Canada, Germany, and of course, the hotel’s own restaurant.

A star in every bite
The hotel’s main building also houses the fine dining restaurant Meisenheimer Hof, which has been awarded one Michelin star and is, like the hotel, under the direction of Markus Pape. The cuisine is rooted in classic French techniques with Asian influences and local ingredients. A signature dish is the tartare of local Glan cattle with miso and dashi broth. “These flavors, along with timeless classics like bouillabaisse, are why our guests keep coming back,” says Pape. Taste the town, live the land Beyond the themed hotel rooms, private vineyard, and acclaimed restaurant, Meisenheimer Hof also features a library, herb garden, open-air terrace, cooking school, and café. And there’s plenty more to explore in the region: hiking, water sports, golfing, cycling, museums, and a variety of artisanal shops. Here, you’ll find all the ingredients for an unforgettable, flavor-filled holiday.
