AUTHENTIC TRANQUILITY OVERLOOKING KITZBÜHEL
Hotel Tennerhof
You stay at Tennerhof high above Kitzbühel, where the town lies below you and the mountains remain in view at all times. The hotel opened in 1929 as the first five-star hotel in the area and has remained in the hands of the von Pasquali family ever since. Today, the third generation is at the helm, and that continuity still defines how the house feels and how it has evolved. With 39 rooms, Tennerhof has intentionally remained small in scale. Instead of expanding, the focus has always been on preserving what was already there. Over time, the hotel has grown into a collection of connected buildings, where different architectural periods and styles remain visible. This is reflected in the rooms and suites. There is no fixed layout or standardized design, but spaces that vary in structure and atmosphere. Antiques from the family collection and natural materials give each room its own character. The hillside location offers open views over Kitzbühel, the surrounding mountains, and the Streif, while the town center remains close by. Around the hotel, a garden with old fruit trees and quiet corners provides space to step away without effort. What sets Tennerhof apart is not a single feature, but the way everything comes together. Its scale, the layered structure of the building, and the fact that it is still run by the same family. Nothing here feels standardized or imposed. That is exactly what makes it more personal and clearly distinct from larger hotels in Kitzbühel.
GASTRONOMY WITH A FOCUS ON QUALITY AND STRUCTURE
Restaurant Tennerhof
Restaurant Tennerhof has developed into a well-established culinary destination in the region over the past decades. Chef Kai Horitzky works with a clear approach in which product and preparation take center stage. Each dish is composed with attention to structure, flavor, and balance. The kitchen combines international influences with ingredients from Tyrol and the surrounding regions. Game dishes, seasonal vegetables, and classical preparations form an important part of the menu. Sauces are carefully developed and support the dish without dominating it. Guests can choose between à la carte dining or a four-course menu as part of the half-board option. The dishes remain accessible while offering enough depth to maintain interest throughout the entire meal. The day begins with an extensive breakfast where regional products are central. Homemade jams, local cheeses, a variety of breads, and freshly prepared egg dishes form the foundation, complemented by seasonal items and fresh juices. For lunch, the restaurant offers a selection of Tennerhof Classics. These lighter dishes and Austrian favorites are well suited for an afternoon on the terrace, overlooking Kitzbühel and the Streif. With 91 points in the Falstaff Restaurant & Inn Guide 2026, the restaurant continues to stand out through consistency and a clear culinary direction.
TRADITION AND FAMILIARITY IN WINTER
RÖMERHOF STÜBERL
During the winter months, Römerhof Stüberl opens its doors, located a short distance from the hotel. It forms an essential part of the Tennerhof culinary offering, providing a more informal counterpart to the main restaurant. While the main restaurant focuses on refinement and structure, Römerhof Stüberl centers on tradition, familiarity, and a relaxed style of dining. The kitchen is rooted in Tyrolean culinary culture, focusing on dishes that have been prepared and shared for generations. Fondue and raclette play a central role, including fondue chinoise and classic cheese fondue, available upon reservation. In addition, dishes such as Wiener Schnitzel, Tyrolean Gröstl, and other Austrian specialties are featured on the menu. All dishes are prepared with respect for the product and traditional methods. The setting is equally important. Wood-paneled interiors reflect the style of a traditional Tyrolean farmhouse, creating a warm and intimate atmosphere suited to long winter evenings. From the restaurant, guests enjoy views of the Hahnenkamm and the snow-covered landscape of Kitzbühel. Römerhof Stüberl stands as an independent concept, offering guests the opportunity to experience a more traditional side of the region alongside the refined cuisine of the main restaurant.
BAR AND TERRACE THROUGHOUT THE DAY
Hotelbar
The hotel bar serves as a central meeting point within Tennerhof and is used at different moments throughout the day. In the early afternoon, it offers a quiet setting for coffee or tea, often accompanied by homemade pastries. On warmer days, this naturally extends to the terrace, where views over Kitzbühel and the surrounding mountains become part of the experience. As the afternoon progresses, the atmosphere gradually shifts toward the evening. Guests gather for an aperitif, a glass of wine, or a light snack. The menu includes a wide selection of drinks, from classic cocktails and digestifs to local specialties. In the evening, the bar becomes a calm space to end the day. Before or after dinner, guests come together in a relaxed setting without noise or formality. Live music is occasionally present, adding a subtle layer to the atmosphere without disturbing the overall tranquility. The terrace remains an important element throughout. Its open views and position make it a natural place to linger, allowing the day to transition into evening at a slower pace.
RELAXATION WITH A VIEW
Wellness & Pools
The wellness facilities at Tennerhof are designed with a focus on calm, clarity, and comfort. The spa is exclusively accessible to hotel guests, maintaining a quiet and private atmosphere. The layout is compact, yet complete, offering everything needed after an active day in the mountains. The indoor pool is open year-round and forms the center of the wellness area. Large windows provide direct views of the Kitzbühel Alps and the Streif, keeping the surrounding landscape present at all times. A whirlpool complements the space, combining warmth with the same open outlook. During the summer months, the outdoor pool is open and located within the garden, surrounded by greenery and facing the mountains. The combination of water, fresh air, and silence makes it a natural place to spend time, both actively and at rest. The spa also includes several saunas, including two Finnish saunas at 80 and 90 degrees, a bio sauna, and a steam bath. A plunge pool is available as well. Multiple relaxation areas are spread throughout the space, including a panoramic room and a silent room dedicated to complete stillness. Treatments and massages are available upon request and are tailored to the individual guest. The overall approach remains personal and well-balanced, in line with the scale and character of the hotel.
