Nidum Boetiekhotel

A warm nest

Nidum Boetiekhotel

Staying overnight in a historic monument becomes reality at Nidum Boutique Hotel. This 16th-century building has been transformed into a true house of inspiration: Nidum’s total concept—Latin for ‘nest’—is a breeding ground for creativity and fresh ideas, with a strong focus on interior design, art, and aesthetics. It feels just like a warm nest. At this beautiful location, the Arsenaal in Grave, various showrooms, stores, and Restaurant Ovum come together. Nidum Boutique Hotel completes the experience: the upper floor of this national monument has been turned into six stunning rooms, each designed by a different interior designer, offering you the chance to enjoy an unforgettable stay. As a result, every room has its own unique character.

Reviews

"The fortifications in and around Grave have largely been dismantled, but at Ovum guests dine inside the Arsenaal, a protected national monument overlooking De Kat. This eleven-meter-high bullet-catching green ramp once protected the arsenal and gunpowder magazine, and today it dominates the beautifully designed restaurant terrace, adding a sense of grandeur. At Ovum, guests can stop by for a drink, a bite, lunch, or dinner. A playful amuse-bouche of double-peeled broad beans and pecorino romano foam is served in an emptied egg on a bed of straw. Ovum—Latin for egg—is part of Nidum, Latin for nest, an inspiring interior and design hub. That’s how the restaurant got its name. Highlights include excellent Ibérico fingers with intense, sticky barbecue sauce and lime mayonnaise, followed by succulent beef chuck served with various textures of beetroot and a rich red wine sauce."
