The beautifully restored barracks building from 1771 has been transformed into an extremely stylish hotel where authentic elements have been tastefully integrated with contemporary design. The restoration project is the largest in the history of both De Rooi Pannen Breda and the municipality of Breda. The hotel and restaurant are run by students who attach great importance to hospitality. The hospitality combined with the special location and a piece of Breda's history ensure an unforgettable stay. Hotel-Restaurant Hippocampus
Mol-Wezel, BelgiumHippocampus was built around the 1900s and was for decades occupied by the managers of a local factory. In 1992, the current host and chef, Francis Scheyvaerts, bought the villa – located between Eindhoven and Antwerp – and transformed it into a gorgeous manor. He first opened a restaurant with the emphasis on refined dining. The furnishing of the restaurant and the rooms betray an English influence. This contributes to the friendly atmosphere in the former management villa. The jolly and likeable host also plays a defining role. The rooms, named after desserts, have all the creature comforts of home and are furnished partly with art-deco furniture. On cold, wintry days the bar/lounge is the place to be to really relax next to the crackling wood fire.

Hoorn, The NetherlandsIn 2020, owners Marco and Laura opened Boutique Hotel & Restaurant Ysbrantsz in the heart of Hoorn, a historic port city. The flair of the Dutch Golden Age is still very much visible here. This is reflected at Ysbrantz where, in the 17th century, Johan Ysbrantsz was a restaurateur, a warm, hospitable man who liked to give his guests the feeling of coming home.
