A moment to truly pause and reflect on what matters.
Why Christmas with Quality Lodgings is special
A festive dinner in a former hunting hall. Walking through fresh snow after a long, lazy breakfast. A sauna with views of a white mountain landscape. No crowds or forced entertainment, but simplicity and refinement. At Quality Lodgings, you experience the holidays in their purest form. For the hoteliers, the festive season is something they look forward to all year, and that sense of anticipation shines through to every member of the team – and is palpable for every guest.
“Our hotels show that the holidays don’t have to be about hustle and bustle, but about connection – with each other and in a special setting,” says Pauline Verhoef, Managing Director of Quality Lodgings. “They show that the festive season is about being together – with each other and in the place where you are.”
Christmas inspiration, three different ways
1. Christmas in the snow
Herangtunet Mountain Lodge – Valdres, Norway
In the middle of Norway’s mountain landscape, this wooden lodge transforms into a place where time and silence come together. Guests gather around the fireplace, traditional dishes mingle with the crackling of the fire, and outside the landscape lies white and untouched. As soon as the snow falls and winter sets in, the short days and clear skies create that unmistakable Norwegian winter light, with plenty of time for skiing, snowshoeing, or husky tours during the day. In the evening, illuminated paths lead you back to the lodge, where Dutch owners Dennis & Daniëlle welcome you.

Landgasthof Linde – Stumm, Austria
In the Tyrolean Zillertal, this 500-year-old inn is steeped in Christmas magic. After a day of skiing in Hochfügen-Hochzillertal, unwind in the Linden SPA with its heated outdoor pool. The kitchen serves traditional dishes that have been part of family holiday celebrations for generations, full of flavor and simplicity. The combination of snow-covered peaks, the historic village square of Stumm, and the warm glow of the fireplace in the Stube makes this a timeless retreat.

Hotel Langgenhof – Bruneck, Zuid-Tirol (Italy)
A hotel with walls full of history and views of the Dolomites. This hotel invites you to slow down in the rooftop wellness area. Regional dishes, warm hospitality, and an atmosphere that encourages you to unwind make this a Christmas of snow and silence. With the illuminated Bruneck Christmas Market within walking distance and 118 kilometers of slopes at Kronplatz close by, you get the best of both worlds: a lively winter ambiance by day and the calm of an intimate hotel by night.

2. Christmas in a castle
Château de Vignée – Villers-sur-Lesse, Belgium
A luxurious nature retreat on the banks of the Lesse. In restaurant ARDEN – led by Chef Marius Bosmans, Gault&Millau Young Chef of the Year 2024 – dishes are created using ingredients from the château’s own kitchen garden. Heritage, the seasons, and silence come together here to form a truly special Christmas experience. For the holidays, the château is festively decorated and you can book an arrangement including a welcome drink, a six-course Christmas Eve dinner, and an extensive Christmas brunch with champagne. In between, the wellness area beckons, with views over the wintry Ardennes.

Kasteel Engelenburg – Brummen, the Netherlands
A castle on the edge of the Veluwe where Christmas unfolds among antique furniture, a wine cellar full of stories, and a 19th-century conservatory and open-kitchen restaurant setting the scene for an elegant dinner. The surrounding forests sparkle in the cold, while warmth awaits inside. From December 1st, the castle is fully dressed in Christmas décor, with lavishly laid tables, twinkling Christmas trees, and arrangements that bring together winter walks, five- to seven-course gastronomic dinners, and live music.

3. A culinary Christmas
Hotel TwentySeven – Amsterdam, the Netherlands
On Dam Square, Christmas takes on a new level of style at Hotel TwentySeven. Suites overlook festively lit canals, breakfast in bed or fine dining at Restaurant Bougainville (awarded one Michelin star): everything exudes luxury and intimacy. This is Christmas for those who want to indulge in high-end comfort in an atmospheric city. The holidays here are celebrated with highly personal service and a culinary standard that quite literally places the city at your feet. While the lights of Dam Square twinkle outside, each suite feels like a warm, private cocoon in the heart of Amsterdam.

Jagdhof Glashütte – Bad Laasphe, Germany
This former hunting lodge is now a five-star hotel with serious culinary credentials. From fondue by the open fire to dining at star level: Christmas here is celebrated with finesse, warmth, and the scent of pine needles in the air. During the festive season, Jagdhof is among the most beautifully decorated hotels in Germany, with richly adorned salons, crackling fireplaces, and extensive Christmas menus on both Christmas Day and Boxing Day. While the landscape outside is covered in a blanket of snow, inside you linger over long lunches and dinners.

PURS Luxury Boutique Hotel – Andernach, Germany
A work of art in the Rhine Valley, designed by Axel Vervoordt. Minimalist elegance combined with a Michelin star from chef Peter Fridén makes this a destination for those who choose the very best, even at Christmas. During the festive months, PURS offers a variety of culinary experiences: from an Italian “Dolce Vita” company Christmas party to a relaxed Christmas Eve at YOSO Asian Comfort Food, where à la carte dishes from across Asia are served.
